The 3rd Euro-Asian Summer School

The EU Studies Institute in Tokyo (EUSI: organized by Hitotsubashi University, Keio University and Tsuda College) will hold the summer school, in collaboration with Seoul National University, Korea and Sciences Po, Paris. In 2009, the summer school was held in Pompeu Fabra University, Spain and Seoul National University, Korea, in 2010, it was held in Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. In 2011, participants of each 10 students from Sciences Po, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, EUSI and Seoul National University will be expected. Please apply for this program in accordance with the guidelines below.

Application Guidelines

1. Targeted Participants: 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students or post-graduates who are enrolled at Hitotsubashi University, Keio University and Tsuda College who are interested in EU-related topics.
In the case of undergraduate at Hitotsubashi University, students who already got credit in "Introduction to EU" will take priority of selection.

4. School Period: 22 August, 2011 (Monday) - 02 September, 2011 (Friday)
Korea Week 22 August - 27 August

5. Required Documents: 1) Application Form: Fill out the application form with the details and submit it.
2) Reasons for Application: within 1 page (A4 size) in English (any form)
6. Application Deadline: 25th April, 2011 (Monday)
7. Screening: The members in charge of Summer school at each university will select them if applicants are over quorum.
8. Notice of determination: 28th April, 2011 (Thursday) Notify the result to each person individually by e-mail.
9. Orientation for Schooling: around 6 times (Wednesday 16:20-17:50)
11 May, 25 May, 8 June, 22 June, 29 June, 20 July
10. Report after returning: We will have a meeting. (In late September)
Participants must submit a report in English by the meeting.
11. Costs: Participants must pay the following costs.
Participation Fee: 200 euro
It includes registration.
Other Costs: In addition to the participation costs, airfare, insurance costs, part of the cost of accommodation and meals must be paid by participants.
12. Notes: The accidents, diseases and others during his/her stay in Europe under this summer school would be due to participant’s own responsibility, of which expenses must be paid by him or herself. He or she must buy the Overseas Travel Accident Insurance on his or her own expenses.
