Barcelona-Seoul Summer Program
The First Euro-Asian Summer School on
“Regional Integration in Comparative Perspective”

Application Guidelines

EU Studies Institute in Tokyo (EUSI: comprising of Hitotsubashi University, Keio University and Tsuda College) will participate in the summer school organized by SNU-KIEP EU Center Seoul National University, Korea, in collaboration with Pmpeu Fabra University, Spain and Leuven University, Belgium. In 2009, the summer school will be held in Spain and Korea and participants of 20 students from Europe, 10 students from Korea and 10 students from Japan will be expected. Please apply for this program in accordance with the guidelines below.

1. Targeted Participants: Junior and senior undergraduate students or post-graduates who are enrolled at Hitotsubashi University, Keio University and Tsuda College who are interested in EU-related topics.
2. Number of participants: 10 people
3. Place of Summer School: Pompeu Fabra University, Spain
SNU-KIEP EU Center, Seoul National University, Korea
4. Costs: Participants must pay the following costs.
Participation Fee: €150(including registration, tuition, accommodation and a part of breakfast and lunch)
(*Participants individually must pay €150 to the instructed foreign bank account by 7 July, 2009.)Other Costs: In addition to the participation costs, airfare, insurance costs, a part of meals and other expenses must be paid by participants.
5. School Period: August 2 (Sun) -August 15 (Sat), 2009
6. Screening: All application documents will be screened, in case that the number of applicants is over quorum.

7. Announcement period: 8 June, 2009 (Mon) -21 June, 2009 (Sun)

8. Application period: 22 June, 2009 (Mon)-26 June, 2009 (Fri) 17:00

9. Required Documents: 1)Application Form: Fill out the application form with the details and submit it.
2)Reasons for Application: within 1 page (A4 size) in English (any form)

10. Report after returning: Participants must submit a report in English within one month after retuning to Japan. Title: “What I learned by participating in this summer school”(any form)
11. Notes: The accidents, diseases and others during his/her stay in Europe under this summer school would be due to participant’s own responsibility, of which expenses must be paid by him or herself.He or she must buy the Overseas Travel Accident Insurance on his or her own expenses.
12. Screening Results: Results will be sent directly to applicants by 30, June 2009.
